Peterson Irish Harp Sandblasted (65)

$169.99

Eschewing the more cylindrical, tubular aesthetic of many of Peterson’s designs, this Peterson Irish Harp Sandblasted (65) Fishtail Bent Billiard features a slightly tapered, yet more rounded style of bowl, combined with a muscular shank and transition to maintain their House Style. Despite these hearty proportions, it remains a compact pipe in terms of overall length, making it an excellent choice for travel.

Celebrating the iconic Celtic harp, or cláirseach in Irish, Peterson’s Irish Harp series dresses pipes in a reserved, rustic aesthetic that’s marked by a walnut stain, a matching acrylic mouthpiece, and a gleaming accent of silver. Offered in either a smooth or sandblasted finish, these pipes showcase Peterson’s superlative silverwork, timeless classicism, and individualized style, as evidenced by this Sandblasted 65 Bent Billiard.

About The Series
One of the warmest finishes in Peterson’s portfolio, the Irish Harp debuted in 2002 and combines an array of their Classic range shapes with deep, ruby-tinged walnut stains, artisan-style sandblasts, Cumberland-patterned acrylic fishtail stems, and bright bands of sterling silver, applied by the hands of their most experienced silversmiths.
About The Range
Created with more experienced smokers and collectors in mind, Peterson’s Premium Classic range elevates their Classic lines with the inclusion of bright, sterling silver fitments, shaped and applied by the hands of their most experienced silversmiths. Having undergone traditional five-to-eight-year apprenticeships under a senior craftsman, their smiths are among the most talented in the world, each having engineered his own mandrel to the extent that each metal fitment is imprinted with the subtle, personal style of the one who machined it.

Since Peterson’s early beginnings, they have viewed their positions in Ireland as a lifelong avocation. In the late 19th century, they began employing and training local Irish men and women, despite other factories hiring French artisans from St. Claude, where the briar pipe originated. Peterson pipes are true Irish products, crafted by Irish people, using Irish traditions and techniques they have developed over the past 150 years. Peterson’s silversmiths, renowned worldwide for their meticulous craftsmanship, are all trained in-house through a rigorous four-to-eight-year apprenticeship. And the same goes for all areas of production at Peterson; they uphold their tradition of craftsmanship by passing it on to new generations.

As the oldest continuously operating briar pipe factory in the world, the folks at Peterson have a certain tradition to uphold, a legacy of craftsmanship dating back over 150 years. Whether you’re browsing for your very first pipe or are a seasoned collector in search of a rare gem, know that every pipe in their catalog carries with it that same preservation of tradition. A Peterson pipe isn’t just a utilitarian tool; it’s a piece of history you can carry with you in your travels, a faithful companion to accompany you through all that life offers.
